SPOUSAL SUPPORT - GUIDELINES
Currently, there is no equivalent to the Federal Child Support Guidelines for spousal support. However, a draft proposal has recently been circulated, and will likely become law (with some adjustments) in the next few years. Unlike the CSG, the Spousal Support Guidelines will be discretionary, and will provide suggested ranges for quantum and duration.
According to the proposal, the Spousal Support Guidelines will have two discrete formulas, one for couples without children, and one for couples with children.
